 cassedy lynn cohen was born october 18th 1988 to marsha and dean cohen, a couple so awkwardly fit together that almost everyone pegged them to be the couple that didn't make it. it came as a shock to most when the two tied the knot, even more so a shocker that not too long after marrying marsha became pregnant with the cohen family's first child, jem. a little less than a year later, with people still doubting them, marsha gave birth to cassedy.
for the first few years of cassedy's life the cohen family resided in san clemente, california. when cassedy was five years old marsha and dean divorced, filing irreconcilable differences. the split wasn't messy, everything was divided between the two and that was that. following a job opportunity, dean moved to longport, new jersey with cassedy, leaving marsha behind. at first cassedy didn't understand, she couldn't fathom why her happy family was now divided and she was leaving mommy behind so of course being a child she put up a fight, but once she was settled into longport, those tantrums faded away.
( a boy, a girl, a love story, but why did it end in misery? taking our chances, getting our thrills, taking and taking but never getting our fill. and this is what i see: a modern love story, love defined on our tv. telling us, teaching us what we need. are we in love or just so alone that we're looking for anyone to hold? )
